It has been announced that Rebecca Adlington, two-time Olympic Gold medallist and British sporting icon, will also attend David Ross Education Trust 2016 Summer Cup.
The Trust-wide event, which takes place in just over three weeks time, will be attended by a host of sporting superstars and Rebecca is the latest name to be included in the line-up.
In previous years, Lord Coe, Dame Kelly Holmes and Denise Lewis have been picked to cheer on DRET students.
Rebecca won two gold medals at the 2008 Beijing Olympics and she has had a career full of success. The iconic star will be overseeing the various events and talking to students from across the Trust at this year’s Summer Cup.
Shane Ward, Sports Enrichment Manager, said: “Having Rebecca join our legion of sporting greats who have attended the event is fantastic news for everyone.
“Rebecca is an inspiration to young people, and we can’t wait for her to see the amazing talent that we have at DRET.”
